How long have you lived in Cincinnati?

I’ve lived in Cincinnati for 11 years.  I was born in Cape Town, South Africa, and came to America with my family in 1986.  My husband is a medical doctor here in town.

What is your profession?

I am an esthetician by training, but no longer work in the profession.

What about your volunteer history?

I’ve enjoyed being a part of Hadassah and volunteering at my synagogue.

What are your hobbies?

I love to play tennis and garden, and of course spend time with my grandchildren!

What’s your best dancing asset?

As a young girl I did ballet.  And now I attend Barre classes and Zumba.

What inspired you to dance for Jewish Family Service?

There’s a great community need for their services.

What don't we know about you that would make someone want to support you?

I love to dance!  And to be able to do that and help those in need makes it the perfect opportunity.

What did your family say when you told them you were dancing?

They were very excited and felt I was a good person to help JFS.

Endeavoring to live righteous lives of caring, doing good deeds and acts of kindness to make our world a better place is more important today than anytime in recent memory. Jewish Family Service, by providing a wide range of needed human services to people in the community at every stage of the life cycle, especially those who are poor and disadvantaged, is an amazing resource in our community.

At a personal level, by getting involved in Dancing With Our Stars to support Jewish Family Service, I am hopeful to contribute handsomely to this worthy cause and honor the mitzvot of Tzedakah (caring and giving) and Tikkun Olam (acts of kindness performed to perfect or repair the world).

Ghita Sarembock is raising money for Jewish Family Service of Cincinnati by competing in the 2018 Dancing with our Stars gala on November 3, 2018. Your support helps strengthen lives in times of need.

Jewish Family Service, a 501(c)3 non-profit agency, strengthens lives of people in times of need by providing social services that guide them along their road to stability, self-reliance, and personal growth.

Your support helps us promote stability and wellness to families experiencing hunger and mental illness; mentor youth toward reaching their highest potential in school and life; and assist older adults with the help they need to manage their independence and live the best quality life possible.
