Our Commitment
Jewish Family Service of the Cincinnati Area (“JFS”) is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people of all abilities. We believe every person has the right to access our programs, services, and information with dignity and independence, and we work to make this website usable by the widest possible audience, including people who use assistive technology such as screen readers, screen magnifiers, and voice recognition software.
Conformance Standard
We aim for this website to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, and we work toward WCAG 2.2 Level AA where practical. These guidelines are published by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and are widely recognized as the benchmark for web accessibility.
Accessibility is an ongoing process, not a one-time project. As we add new content, update features, and adopt new technology, we continue to test, identify barriers, and make corrections. We cannot guarantee that every page meets every WCAG success criterion at every moment, but conformance with WCAG 2.1 AA is our standing goal across the site.
Our Accessibility Process
We review this website on an ongoing basis and make improvements as issues are identified. Our work has included:
– Reviewing site templates, plugins, and interactive elements — including navigation menus, carousels, popups, and forms — for missing or incomplete accessible labels.
– Providing descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
– Supporting keyboard navigation and screen reader compatibility for menus and interactive features.
– Ensuring form fields and controls have properly associated labels.
– Periodic automated and manual accessibility testing.
This is not a one-time undertaking. We revisit and test the site as content, features, and standards evolve, and we review this statement at least once a year.
Accessibility Toolbar
This website includes an optional accessibility toolbar, available by clicking the accessibility icon on the page. It allows visitors to adjust settings such as text size, contrast, cursor size, and reading aids to suit their individual preferences.
This tool is provided as an additional convenience. It adjusts how the page is displayed for visitors who choose to use it, but it does not replace our work to make the site’s underlying code, content, and structure accessible. Use of the toolbar is entirely optional, and the site is designed to remain usable with or without it.
Known Limitations
Despite this work, some content may not yet be fully accessible. This can include:
– Documents (such as PDFs) published before our current review process.
– Content or tools embedded from third-party providers — for example, maps, videos, or forms hosted by outside vendors — whose accessibility we do not directly control.
– Newly published content that has not yet completed accessibility review.
We prioritize and correct issues as we become aware of them.
Third-Party Content and Services
Our website may link to, or embed, content and services operated by other organizations (payment processors, video platforms, social media, and similar tools). This statement applies only to content we control; we encourage the third-party services we use to meet applicable accessibility standards and will consider accessibility when choosing new vendors and tools.
Feedback and Assistance
We want to know if you run into a barrier. If you have difficulty accessing any content or feature on this website, please contact us:

When you contact us, please let us know the specific page or feature involved and, if relevant, the browser or assistive technology you were using — this helps us diagnose and fix the issue faster. We aim to acknowledge accessibility feedback within 5 business days and will work with you to provide the information, item, or service you need through an alternate method while we address the underlying barrier.
