Cincinnati Families Read FREE with PJ Library
PJ Library® is a national program created by the Harold Grinspoon Foundation to support families in their Jewish journey by sending Jewish-content books and music to children (ages 6 months - 8 years) on a monthly basis. This unique program delivers an age-appropriate library of Jewish books and music to children at no cost.
PJ Library in Cincinnati has been possible by the generous support of the Harold Grinspoon Foundation, Anne Heldman, the Fisher Family (founding sponsor), the Jewish Federation of Cincinnati and the collaborative efforts of Jewish Family Service and the Mayerson JCC.

The following video shows a 21-month old who just received Deyenu, his Passover PJ Library book. After his grandmother read/sang it to him once, he was ready to "read" it to his dad.
How Does PJ Library Strengthen Families?
PJ Library emphasizes early childhood literacy. “The single most significant factor influencing a child’s early educational success is an introduction to books and being read
to at home prior to beginning school.” National Commission on Reading.
Books are a conduit for bonding with children while helping them learn about the world around them. Through reading, our children learn about parents’ values and hear stories
about their family heritage.
Interactive reading with children helps them develop critical thinking skills and teaches them positive ways to converse, ask questions, listen and make observations.
PJ Library provides opportunities for families to connect with local Jewish community organizations through programs, monthly e-newsletters and social media.
- PJ Library provides links to national and local parenting resources.
