Wrap up
“It was a privilege to sit in the audience watching and listening to such incredible talents; and it is remarkable to learn that these international performers live in the Greater Cincinnati area.” That was one comment we received from a guest at the Medley of Performing Arts by New Americans.
From world-renowned classical professional musicians to young ballet students,
an audience of over 350 people was captivated by the diversity of talent
showcased in “Homeland to Cincinnati”, a benefit for Jewish Family Service’s
Resettlement Department held Sunday, December 18 at Sycamore Jr. High in
Montgomery.
Billed as a “Medley of
Performing Arts by New Americans”, the concert included a wide range of
professional performances by émigrés from the former Soviet Union who have
resettled in Cincinnati. The New Americans
from the former Soviet Union dazzled the crowd with their dancing,
instrumental and vocal talents they brought from their homeland to Cincinnati.
“Homeland to Cincinnati”
raised $7,500 for JFS Resettlement services including translation &
interpretation; English as a Second Language, Citizenship, and Voting classes;
case management; and counseling.
